The hotel is fairly centrally located, about a ten minute walk to Grand' Place. The room was large.

There is no space to park your car, or even stop to drop off your luggage. You need to park at a nearby (6 minute walk with luggage) parking lot for €20 a day. Although updated, I wouldn't say the room was modern. We could hear the TV from the room across the hall.

Style of room and lounge area. Comfort level. Location.

Wifi was only available in lounge area. Hand held shower in the room I was in.

This hotel has a fantastic location, close to everything including the Central Station. The lobby is lovely, the staff were friendly and very helpful. They leave out caramels that are really nice. The room was very large for a hotel with character in the middle of a European city.

The hotel was renovated in 1990 and it seems that no significant investment in maintaining or updating the infrastructure has been made since that time. Our room badly needed repainting and updating. It was also not as clean as I would expect for a four star hotel in this price range. The most frustrating thing was that the WiFi internet did not work in our room and was very slow even in public areas. The room had old ethernet ports, but it seems they have abandoned the wired internet system as this did not work at all (even though the staff had cables ready to give us). The business center had an ancient pc available for things like boarding passes and booking, but it was very slow and no Skype capability. For a four star hotel in this price range in 2011, I would expect working internet in the room. If you will need internet on your vacation, don't book this hotel.

Very close to the Brussels Central train station. Good for walking with luggage, fabulous for airport transportation. Bad because there's a seedy creepy Church across the street with homeless beggers and a sleezy tented Flea Market, kitty corner, with a scary & gritty following. The Hotel was definatly upscale and Booked.net had us in a cool room (110 eros which was super cheap) with a "cave-like" lower level sitting room and modern marble bathroom...but...NO Shower, poor lighting, 2 teensy computer screen TVs with terrible viewing options, no coffee/tea in room, difficult internet connection, no ice (we did receive a glass size cloudy gross amount after 35 mins from the bar). Room was "clean enough" in poor lighting. Overall rate; good for 110 eros. Would not take my teens here because the complaining would be constant and actually valid.

It is very difficult to say I'd recommend this Hotel. It is so good at the good and so bad at the bad.?!?

Location is excellent, 300 yards from central train station. Centrally located to all major attractions in the central city. Friendly helpful staff.

Breakfast was adequate, not a great value but quick.

Excellent hotel - unique as opposed to the large "corporates". Superbly positioned. Reasonably priced.

This is a great place - a very short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the train station, the museums, and the historical center. The location could not be better. The lobby is lovely and inviting. The rooms (and we had the cheapest one) are large: room for 2 suitcases and 2 chairs to sit on; and the bathroom has everything,

This is not a 'Relais du Silence'. The central courtyard echos city, kitchen and traveler noises into all the room. Not in anyway overwhelming - but not 'silent'.

Central location was very helpful. Being close to the train station as well as the center of the city was a plus.

While the hotel was lovely, as was the room, the street location is a bit difficult to locate. Also, there was quite a bit of noise because of location of room vis a vis steps and roof garden, where there was a party one night, which seemed to take place in our room because of the proximity of the roof to our room.

A quiet, tiny gem in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Grand Place. Excellent location for seeing Brussels or getting out of town via train. Wonderful, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Quirky rooms, including one with steps down to a wonderful old "cave" containing the living room and very large bath. All in all, wonderful and personal suites for the same price as a room in a soulless chain hotel. Really, a gem. An absolute gem.

Not a complaint, just a "fair warning" observation: the "modern" wing is down a few steps and across a tinycourtyard from reception.

Although the hotel is within the center of Brussels and walking distance from the crowds, it is a haven of peace, since all rooms are towards the inside with views on the inner court garden

There was a lingering smell in the toilet, which I notified the staff about. This seems to be a chronic problem since they had an air freshner placed there.

Cosy Hotel, nicely decorated and well located for a city trip

Staff could be a more personal and warm hearted

We really liked the location of the hotel.

The hotel staff was not rude, but they were not welcoming either.

  • Older travelers

Loved the location and especially the room decor of suite Somville: high ceilings, Chinese furnitures mixed tastefully with Western ones, quiet room and comfy bed. There was a kitchenette which we didn't use. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which I find convenient. Can't comment on the breakfast since we chose to eat outside and soak up the atmosphere. The multilingual staff was helful with giving directions. I suggest to travel light as there are a few steps up and down before reaching the tiny European style elevator.

  • Older travelers

The staff was very courteous, the hotel is charming, and the location is excellent. We would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is great - lovely rooms, extremely helpful and nice staff, good breakfast and peaceful ambience. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Brussels.
